This is an arrangement of F. Chopin's piano music that the great violinists of yore, Ysaye,Sarasate, and Wilhelm would love to play and that was published as a music book with a violin part and piano score. What is noteworthy in this is the lost "Ballade N. 1op. 23" arranged by the great violinist, conductor, and composer Ysaye in 1916. This is a piece of music that was arranged for playing for the first time ever with the permission of Ysaye's grandson, Mr. Jacques Ysaye. Furthermore, "Waltz No.14 op.posth", adapted by Ysaye, which had previously been only published for private use, was also included thanks to the same Mr. Jacques Ysaye.
Pianist Ikuyo Nagata has organized and corrected Ysaye's autograph, and plays the piano accompaniment on the CD recording of the tie-up release. As have revealed in the handwriting editing work, as one of the activities of Ysaye Society of Japan, we are conducting lecture concerts on the unknown relationships of Chopin and Ysaye "Ballade". To be glad, this version songs are becoming popular as songs of animation insertion in Japan. Furthermore, as this album contains "Noctune op. 9-2", which was arranged and recorded by the late Sarasate, and "Noctune op. 27-2" by Wilhelmj who was also known as the arranger of "Bach's Air on G String", it is an album that every violinist should have handy. Chopin, while he left us some sketches, never completed a violin piece but his beautifully poetic melody, as arranged by the great violinists, is reborn. Please enjoy this arrangement of Chopin at the hands of the great violinists as well as the wondrous method they used.
At the nonprofit organization Ysaye Society of Japan, we would like to send scores to overseas applicants for free shipping. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested.
