The Takács Quartet performed Clarice Assad’s NEXUS at Carnegie's Zankel Hall.
- New York Classical Review: "Clarice Assad’s NEXUS...had the players literally in motion, circling each other onstage like planets trying to form a solar system. But what the Brazilian-born composer called this group’s 'visceral, whole-body approach to musical expression' was in evidence even when they were conventionally seated for quartets by Haydn and Debussy."
Chad Hoopes and cellist Jan Vogler performed the Brahms Double Concerto with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Maurice Cohn.
- Texas Classical Review: "The well-matched timbres of the soloists’ instruments mirrored their synergetic and collaborative playing of their closely aligned parts....Brahms treats the two soloists as a cooperative duo that together sounds in opposition to the orchestra, a partnership that Hoopes and Vogler embraced fully. "
David Coucheron, pianist Julie Coucheron, violist Zhenwei Shi and cellist Efe Baltacigil performed a concert at Clayton State University's Spivey Hall in Morrow, Georgia.
- EarRelevant: "Across four substantial works, the concert showcased the artists’ lively, responsive interplay, refined balance, and polished musicianship — sheer joy for an audience that revels in attentive listening."
Daniel Hope, pianist Wu Han and cellist David Finckel performed a concert of piano trios in the Barns at Wolf Trap.
- Washington Classical Review: "In Beethoven’s early Piano Trio No. 1, all three musicians upgraded to a more expansive palette of sound, with a delicate touch in the first movement’s main motif, an upward reaching arpeggio."
Diana Tischenko performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Ariane Matiakh.
- A Youngish Perspective: "Tischenko’s performance demonstrated impressive command alongside expression."
Himari performed Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Jaap van Zweden.
- The Strad: "What emerged was not mere display, but a reading charged with contained flame: magnetic in pull, volatile in gesture, yet governed by a striking internal poise."
