Finalists Named in 2026 Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition
The Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition (EOIVC) announced today that the following four competitors have advanced to the final round:
- Sameer Agrawal, 20, of the United States
- Yiyang Hou, 21, of China)
- Julia Jones, 21, of the United States
- Hyun Jae Lim, 28, South Korea

This year's Oliveira competition started on Jan. 8 at Lynn University Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, Fla. The Final Concert will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, when each of the four finalists will perform with the Lynn Philharmonia, conducted by Gerald Karni. You can watch the finals (as well as past rounds from this year) on the Oliveira Competition's Youtube channel or on the Violin Channel.
Winners will be announced following the Jan. 18 concert, with awards including a First Prize of $30,000; Second Prize of $15,000; Third Prize of $10,000; and Fourth Prize of $5,000.
Past winners include Hina Khuong-Huu (2023), Julian Rhee (2020) and Sirena Huang (2017 - the competition's inaugural year).
The jury for EOIVC 2026 includes Chairman Andrés Cárdenes, Ilya Kaler, Ida Kavafian, Irina Muresanu, Philip Setzer, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, and Kyoko Takezawa.
