Benjamin Beilman performed Dvorák's Violin Concerto in A minor with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Andris Nelsons.
- Seen and Heard International: "Beilman exhibited marvellous musicality on his ‘Ysaye’ Guarneri del Gesu violin of 1740 and was matched by magnificent playing from Dohr’s horn and Pahud’s flute."
Renaud Capuçon performed Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Gustavo Gimeno.
- Bach Track: "Renaud Capuçon was a smooth, engaging soloist; his habit of elegantly stomping around towards the ends of harmonic sequences added an entertaining degree of theatricality, and as the excitement mounted, so did the stomping."
Maxim Vengerov, Vilde Frang, James Ehnes, cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, pianist Yefim Bronfman and clarinetist Anthony McGill performed Brahms Piano Quintets at Carnegie Hall for the Carnegie Hall Perspective series.
- Bach Track: "Vengerov and his friends offered a brilliant, heart-stirring account, weaving phrases together with great precision and feeling. Never out of synch, the five musicians shaped a perfectly balanced sound world, alternately tempestuous and tender."
Boston Artists Ensemble performed three late quartets by Mozart at St. Paul’s Church in Brookline, Mass.
- Boston Classical Review: "Sunday’s performance from the ensemble of violinists Nicholas Kitchen and Tatiana Dimitriades, violist Rebecca Gitter, and cellist Jonathan Miller captured much of what makes the trilogy so striking. The group’s playing was lean and responsive, never getting in the way of the music"
