ETSU Chamber Music FestivalIn-Person - Held on the campus of East Tennessee State University June 24-29, we welcome students ages 11-25, from those just beginning to play chamber music (as early as Suzuki Book 4 level) to Conservatory-level students, who will be matched by age and level. Competitive scholarships, excellent student housing on campus, and a thriving family-friendly atmosphere.

ARIA International Summer AcademyIn-Person - Intensive program for intermediate, advanced, and pre-professional students, ages 16-28. Session 1: June 18-July 3, Session 2: July 5-20, 2025. Eight private lessons per session + daily master classes. Held at Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Massachusetts.

Mike Block String CampIn-Person - MBSC is a summer workshop July 7-12 for string players of all ages and backgrounds, focusing on non-Classical traditions and contemporary musical styles, with emphasis on learning by ear, creativity, collaboration, and performance. Violin/Fiddle, Cello, Viola, Bass, Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo, and more!

Oberlin Baroque Performance InstituteIn-Person - Music in England from Purcell to Handel - June 15-29, 2025. In its 52nd year, Oberlin's premiere summer workshop for baroque instruments and voice prepares musicians ages 15 and up. Learn baroque techniques on period instruments and gain a fuller appreciation of this unique musical genre, with lessons from faculty and resident artists and master classes, recitals, and student concerts.

Idyllwild ArtsIn-Person - Immerse yourself in an intensive two-week summer camp experience led by Idyllwild Arts Academy instructors and other leading professional chamber and orchestral musicians from around the world. Students ages 12-17 can join us from June 29 - July 12, 2025 to discover the magic of an Idyllwild Arts summer in the mountains of Southern California.

Zodiac Music Academy & FestivalIn-Person - With chamber music at its core, the Zodiac Music Academy & Festival (July 2–15, 2025) offers an immersive summer experience for advanced students (ages 18+) and emerging professionals in Valdeblore and Nice, France. Participants receive intensive coaching, chamber music training, and performance opportunities while enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the French Riviera and the Southern Alps.

Strings Without BoundariesIn-Person - We offer an Adult as well as a Youth Program. Strings Without Boundaries’ 29th season will be held in Easthampton, MA for amateurs through professionals. Our incredible faculty offers roots & contemporary styles on violin, viola, & cello, as well as creative musicianship skills & amplification know-how.

Music at Port MilfordIn-Person - Music at Port Milford Chamber Music Academy, Est 1987

Fulton Summer Music AcademyIn-Person - FSMA is for classical string/piano players taught by world-class faculty just west of Chicago. Designed for pre-college through pre-professionals seeking a focused experience regardless of career plans. Lessons, chamber music, orchestra, sonata seminar, journaling, and more. Low student/faculty ratio and tuition assistance for all! June 29 - July 25

Colburn Chamber Music IntensiveIn-Person - The Colburn Summer Chamber Music Intensive from June 17–28 provides focused ensemble playing for serious chamber music students aged 13–18 years.
Students will learn an entire work during their time together, as well as participate in stage presence activities, team building, master classes, and other group-building activities.

Sounding Point AcademyIn-Person - Sounding Point Academy founded by Colburn faculty Robert Lipsett and Fabiola Kim nurtures the next generation of soloists, chamber musicians, and orchestral musicians. Explore critical violinistic elements, perform for leading performing artists, master orchestral excerpts, and gain comprehensive knowledge of violin performance. June 2–14, Colburn School, no age limit.

Shkolnikova AcademyIn-Person - Applications open through April 5 for violin, viola, and cello students and a limited number of advanced collaborative piano students ages 14 -26. Located on the grounds of the magnificent Chateau de la Flocellière in the Vendée region of France. Individual lessons, chamber music coachings, string ensembles, performance opportunities, recordings with a professional pianist, and guest masterclasses.

Mason String IntensiveIn-Person - The Mason String Intensive is designed for intermediate and advanced string players to help develop the skills needed to become dynamic soloists and chamber musicians. Held at George Mason University’s campus in Fairfax, Virginia, the sessions will cover technical proficiency, audition preparation, and effective practice strategies. For rising grades 7–12, July 21–25, 2025.

Mason String CampIn-Person - The Mason String Camp is a week-long intensive program for middle and high school violin, viola, cello, and bass players. In addition to orchestra, students will participate in sectionals, masterclasses, and daily elective classes on creativity, musicianship, and performance skills. For ages 10–18, July 28–August 1, 2025.

IU Retreat for Violin and Viola TeachersIn-Person - This summer we are offering a Seven Day course to cover Seven of the most important violin/viola Principles. Morning sessions will be devoted to lectures, and the afternoon sessions will put the principles into practice with participants and students. The Retreat will incorporate the philosophies of Shinichi Suzuki, Paul Rolland, and Mimi Zweig.

Los Angeles Suzuki InstituteIn-Person - Welcome to Los Angeles Suzuki Institute 2025! LASI offers a nurturing, Suzuki music experience held on the beautiful campus of Pitzer College for students, parents, and teachers ages 4 and up. Student Programs run June 16th-20th and Teacher Programs run June 7-8th and June 14th-21st.

Elisabeth Morrow School's Summer String FestivalIn-Person - The Elisabeth Morrow School Summer String Festival (Aug. 4-8) is a program for experienced violinists, violists, and cellists, ages 4–14, who love music. The week-long session takes place on our beautiful campus in Englewood, N.J., and culminates with the 30th Anniversary Gala Concert on Friday, Aug. 8, at bergenPAC.

String CrossingsIn-Person - June 15-20, 2025: String Crossings is Belmont University’s annual week-long summer camp where current high school string students learn and perform music from a diverse set of genres including classical, jazz, rock, celtic, swing, and bluegrass. Students study with Belmont's world-renowned faculty, explore creative musicianship and technique in all styles, participate in interactive performances, and immerse themselves in an exciting week of making music with new friends!

Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin StudiesIn-Person - Join a community of violin teachers and professionals from across the world at this biennial series of master classes, workshops, and recitals celebrating violin studies and the legacy of the late renowned teacher Dorothy DeLay. Hosted at Juilliard in New York City, June 23-27. Apply by April 15.

Colorado Chamber Music InstituteIn-Person - Colorado Chamber Music Institute is designed for advanced teenage violin, viola, cello, flute and guitar students who are interest in expanding their chamber music training. From June 20-28, 2025, students will have the opportunity to work with members of the Lux Quartet in the picturesque setting of Beaver Creek, Colorado!

The Chamber Music Experience @ CIMIn-Person - At CIM, summer training isn’t only for high-school students but also for adults. In “The Chamber Music Experience," June 23-27, participants spend an unforgettable week engaged in specialized musical training and general enrichment with CIM's elite faculty in Cleveland's University Circle. Open to instrumentalists 18+ with all levels of experience.

Paul Rolland String Pedagogy WorkshopHybrid - Hosted by the PRSPS at the University of Illinois June 22–28. This workshop explores Paul Rolland’s movement-based pedagogy through interactive sessions led by former students of Rolland and certified instructors. Teachers, performers and students of all ages can attend in person or via livestream, with recordings available for 8 weeks.

Altschuler Summer Music InstituteIn-Person - ASMI improves classical musicians of all levels and ages seeking to develop their technique and artistry, in masterclasses, private lessons, chamber music, and orchestra, taught by world-renowned artists. It is an immersive program that creates high level musical opportunities and inspires the growth and development of all participants. Session I: July 7-18 in Premilcuore & Session II: July 21-August 1 Rimini.

March 8, 2025 at 11:28 PM · I think our local conservatory, the Washington Conservatory (washingtonconservatory.org), will have an adult chamber music workshop the week of June 30 - July 4. This is lots of fun and basically for good amateurs. Stay tuned.
