Anne-Sophie Mutter performed John Williams’ Violin Concerto No. 2 with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in Munich, Germany.
- The Dallas Morning News: "...it’s certainly a showpiece for solo violin, and Mutter flawlessly dispatched every soulful musing, every wild leap, every dizzying scurry, every challenging double stop."
Joshua Bell performed Henri Vieuxtemp’s Violin Concerto No. 5 and other works with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
- Calgary Herald: "Bell is virtually without peer in this repertoire and completely wowed the audience."
Vadim Gluzman, Paul Huang, Danbi Um and Njioma Grevious performed with pianist Alessio Bax and others at the North Shore Chamber Music Festival in Chicago.
- Chicago Classical Review: "This year’s festival closed Saturday night to a sold-out house for a program filled with the exceptional musicianship one has come to expect over the years."
- Violinist.com: "The second movement's (of Prokofiev's Sonata for Two Violins) emphatic chords were full of energy, and this movement showcased (Huang and Um's) uncommon coordination, matching sound and articulation as they negotiated fast passages that had them volleying by the 16th note - an exciting flurry of sound."
The Dover Quartet performed a concert in Rockport, Mass.
- Boston Musical Intelligencer: "One quickly realized that listening to a great quartet play Mozart on a beautiful day at Shalin Liu Performance Center is as good as life gets. What elegant, ebullient playing. I was deeply impressed, having known this quartet only through its recordings."
Espressivo! performed a recital at the Brattleboro Music Center.
- Rutland Herald: "Violinist Jaime Laredo, violist Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, cellist Sharon Robinson and pianist Anna Polonsky, joined by bassist Harold Robinson, delivered an impassioned, riveting performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ 1903 luscious and deeply Romantic Piano Quintet in C minor, at a sold-out concert at the Brattleboro Music Center."
