Are you looking for a program this summer that will inspire and boost your playing, or that of your students? Violinist.com seeks to connect you to high-quality summer camps and programs that are offering their programs in-person or virtually this summer. Our "Find a Summer Music Program" listings include programs for many different ages and styles for violinists and string players. Colburn Summer Chamber Music Intensive
In-Person - One or two-week program of focused ensemble playing with coaches from the Ed and Mari Edelman Chamber Music Institute. Open to upper-intermediate and advanced level string and piano students. Prior chamber music experience is recommended, but not required. Dates: June 30–July 6 and July 8–13, ages 13–18, at the Colburn School in Los Angeles. Click here for more information

IU Retreat for Violin and Viola Teachers
In-Person - Welcome to the Jacobs School of Music Retreat for Violin and Viola Teachers 2024 - a seven-day course to cover seven of the most important violin/viola principles. Morning lectures, with afternoon sessions putting principles into practice with participants and students. The retreat will incorporate the philosophies of Shinichi Suzuki, Paul Rolland, and Mimi Zweig. Click here for more information

Aria International Summer Academy
In-Person - Intensive program for intermediate, advanced, and pre-professional violin and cello students, ages 16-28. Two sessions of two weeks each. Eight private lessons per session and daily masterclasses. Click here for more information

ETSU Chamber Music Festival
In-Person - Held on the campus of East Tennessee State University June 24-29, we welcome students ages 11-25, from those just beginning to play chamber music (as early as Suzuki book 4 level) to conservatory level students, who will be matched by age and level. Los Angeles Suzuki Institute
In-Person - Our institute is a family-oriented Suzuki music summer program for students, parents & teachers of all ages & levels at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. Mike Block String Camp

Borromeo Music Festival
In-Person - Spend an unforgettable summer performing solo and chamber music in the breathtaking Swiss Alps! Chamber Music Institute/So Cal
In-Person - Learn string quartets by women and men composers! July 15-28, each group (ages 8-88) will learn a movement by a woman composer, as well as one of the standard gems in the quartet literature. Mason String Camp
In-Person - The Mason String Camp is a week-long intensive program for string players. Curriculum will focus on developing musicianship skills for small and large ensemble participation, including private lessons, orchestra, and more! Sounding Point Academy
In-Person - Founded by Colburn School faculty Robert Lipsett and Fabiola Kim, this program for advanced violinists gives students the opportunity to perform for the world’s leading performing artists, master the intricacies of orchestral excerpts, and gain comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of violin performance. Colorado Chamber Music Institute
In-Person - Colorado Chamber Music Institute is designed for advanced teenage violin, viola, cello, flute and guitar students who are interest in expanding their chamber music training.
