Violinist Gil Shaham. Photo by Chris Lee.Gil Shaham performed Dvorák’s Violin Concerto in A Minor with the National Symphony Orchestra.
- Washington Jewish Week: "Shaham’s playing was always solid, confident and beautifully on pitch from the highest notes to the lowest range. He delivered the solos and ensemble moments paired with individual instruments and small ensembles in a sensitive manner, never overshadowing members of the orchestra, while playing with breathtaking brilliance and emotion."
Anne-Sophie Mutter and cellist Pablo Ferrández performed the Brahms Double Concerto with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
- Violinist.com: "Violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and cellist Pablo Ferrández explored the emotional range of this cello-violin drama in an energetic and whole-hearted performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and conductor Gustavo Dudamel, for a full house at Walt Disney Concert Hall."
Christian Tetzlaff performed Thomas Adès’ Violin Concerto "Concentric Paths" with the BBC Philharmonic.
- The Arts Desk: " There was much for Tetzlaff to do, exploring the extremes of his instrument’s compass, and articulating its role against extremes of what might in any other context be thought of as an orchestra’s role of accompaniment. He accomplished this with technical brilliance and determination."
Nemanja Radulovic performed Aram Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto in D minor with The Hallé.
- Bachtrack: "He drew up sounds from the very depths of his instrument and, playing high on the fingerboard, made notes of such tenderness and beauty that they were barely tones at all, rather they were thoughts made sound."
Viktoria Mullova performed two Bach Violin Concertos with Music of the Baroque.
- Chicago Classical Review: "Mullova brought subtle esprit to the initial Allegro (in the The E Major Concerto), imbuing Bach’s lines in lively fashion with a variety of articulation and wider spectrum of dynamics."
Colorado Piano Trio performed music of Mozart, Kodály, and Smetana in Greeley, Co.
- Violinist.com: "The repertoire was fascinating and the performances divine. If there was a common thread that tied these three composers together, it was the juxtaposition of utter simplicity and virtuosic fireworks."
Gil Shaham performed Dvorák’s Violin Concerto in A minor with the Philharmonia Orchestra (in December 2023).
- The Strad: "He got the bit between his teeth straight away, with playing of boundless vitality, robust and brilliant, seemingly relishing his own virtuosity.."
James Ehnes performed Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra (in Nov. 2023).
- The Strad: "With Ehnes, remarkable always seems to come as standard, but he still gave a masterclass in what can be done with a violin. After the brisk opening he produced some gossamer playing, fluent and free, and built steadily through melodies and technical fireworks alike. "
