Hard shell oblong violin case recommendations - 4/4
I currently have a violin case that I've used for a couple of years. It has all the features I want but doesn't have the best quality material, and I am thinking about buying a new one. Since I use a Bon Musica shoulder rest (and probably will continue to), I need an oblong case to fit it. I also go to a lot of orchestra rehearsals, and a sheet music pouch would be beneficial. Does anyone know any case/ would recommend any case that is under $300, oblong, hard shell (and without zippers), and has a sheet music pouch as well as a strap for the should rest?
That is going to be near impossible for under $300. Most hard oblong cases are in the $500+ range.
Define hard case. If you mean not even Wood Susan is right that's gonna be nearly impossible under $300. If wood is okay then your best bet is going to be one of the Bobelock 1002, 14002, or 16002 cases.
Zippers just don't convey the lifestyle.
The only possibility in that price range and without zippers would be a thermoplastic case. And those are pretty much junk.

You might consider a GEWA Pure case. They retail for just under $300, have a good amount of room, and come with a music pouch that fits on the bottom of the case. No zippers.
I second the GEWA Pure:
As an alternative to Gewa, I rather like Jakob Winter. They are very similar, a bit cheaper and I prefer the way they are laid out (the shaped cases, at least). Not the best cases out there, but within the budget and perfectly serviceable.
