Info needed on Violin

Edited: December 16, 2022, 2:18 PM · I have recently acquired a violin in a trade and can find very little information about it. I was hoping someone here might be able to illuminate me on what it is, some comparable models, and what it might be worth.
The violin is a John Wu VN401 from the year 2000 (according to the label). I have found one store selling these and they are currently $1700 for just the violin. This feels like a decent quality instrument (my background is in fretted, stringed, instruments) but I am very unfamiliar with the nuances of violins. Also, if someone has a recommended store around Chattanooga, Tn, I’m very open to having it checked out by an expert.

I have a Samuel Shen from around the same time and really like it. It also has a similar sale price and I am guessing quality. You probably want to get strings changed and possibly get the bow rehaired and it will likely be a good instrument.
