A. Grigorian Scales & Arpeggios

July 18, 2022, 12:34 PM · Who was A. Grigorian? When did he live, where was he from, and what teaching posts did he hold? I just purchased his Scales & Arpeggios, published by Muzyka, and am very impressed. Though I don't understand Russian, I think it's a very good preparatory scale book for the Flesch, Gilels, or Heifetz scale books and will be using it with my students from now on. I'm curious to see what others opine on this scale book and learn more about A. Grigorian. Thank you!

You may find more by searching with the alternate spelling Grigoryan.

Further info may be difficult to get as he was active in Soviet Russia and perhaps before.

I found a photo of him playing in some unusual place which I forget but I accidentally closed the tab. Sorry.
