A book to ponder...(perhaps)
I learned of the existence of this 6-year-old book about "producing" VIOLIN VIRTUOSOS just moments ago:
Producing Excellence: The Making of Virtuosos
by Izabela Wagner (Rutgers University)
The hard cover edition is expensive, the Kindle edition coxts about $21

The reviews on Amazon are very good, meaning they focus on important things and not the color of the binding. There is one long review which goes into considerable detail about things which people somewhat hint at on this website.
Ann - what is the colour of the binding for the Kindle? Inquisitive minds really want to know...
The sample linked by Erin reveals a writing style that is too verbose for my personal taste.
I agree, this is the style of the social scientist.
Some of the Amazon reviews are quite detailed. (Enough info is provided to deduce that she's the mother of Filip Saffray, a professional violist.)
