Dukas Symphony in C

June 10, 2021, 10:58 PM · Has anyone performed this symphony? I found it while browsing on Youtube and really enjoyed it. Is it a bit more obscure? And how difficult is it?

Edited: June 11, 2021, 2:27 PM · I haven't played it (I played Sorcerer's Apprentice before) but I've listeded to it and it's a very good piece and it sounds challenging for an orchestra.

I have a recording of it (Cincinanti Symphony, Telarc) along with music from the ballet, La Peri, which has an excellent brass fanfare at the begining.

I think Dukas was a very skilled composer and orchestrator who knew how to use instrument colors effectively. Not sure if wrote/published any chamber or solo music for violin; I haven't come across any.
