P&H Violin Bow Carbon Fiber
I would like to ask you if any of you have tried these violin and viola bows, if you have compared them to other brands. Thanks!
The P& H Carbon Violin bow works well as a Viola bow. The Cello and Bass bows are OK. For some reason, maybe the choice of hair, both the carbon and regular P&H violin bows sound really rough, noisy, on a violin.
Thanks dear Joel!!
I agree with Joel. The weight seems to work well with a viola but not so much with a violin. I've not tried any of the cello or bass bows but I would venture to guess that they'd be much more rugged, especially if they are being used by kids.
continued-- yesterday I used my fiberglass P&H violin bow (<$100) for an outside mariachi job. It's "noisy" quality was a good match for one of my violins ($600 when new) with steel Helicore strings. I am competing with two trumpets.
