November 3, 2020, 10:08 PM · I hope I am not repeating myself. Can someone comment on the Eastman cadenza carbon fibre mviolin bow. I keep hearing that the Coda bow is something else!!

Coda have fans, but they also have detractors.

You are hesitant about buying a cheap bow, it seems (£50-£80?). If you are in Britain, and I know your budget, I can make suggestions. For example, there's Hidersine who do a carbon bow for £88. But if you are not in the UK, Hidersine may be unavailable. At your price level, I suspect, since you are a retired GP, you can stretch to a Col Legno Standard at least (£140).

Coda seem to start at £350.

I should have included these links earlier:

I apologise to Americans who haven't heard of, and don't care about, Hidersine, but I'm working on the assumption that Terry is British. These links are purely for the sake of illustration of what is available. I have one of their cheaper wooden bows and it seems fine for the money.

I apologise to Terry if I come across as brusque - I remember what it was like to be a noob posing tentative questions on this forum.
