Codetta

Edited: June 25, 2020, 9:03 AM · What are some pieces for violin that feature a codetta ending ? Is the ending to the FAE sonata movement (Brahms's scherzo) a coda or codetta? Is the purpose of a codetta to signify a false ending to a piece?
