Class of bow

June 23, 2020, 2:42 PM · Hey all, I was just wondering if any of you could tell what grade of bow this is — it’s a Sivori, and as you know they have quite a wide array of bows, the wood is pernambuco, yet I have yet to see wire like this used. It looks like copper? Maybe rose gold (lol I would assume not but wouldn’t that be nice).

Originally the copper would have been silver plated, but the plating wears off over years of use. That kind of winding was in wide use for inexpensive nickel bows of that period.
