The festival is open for musicians aged 15~30 (currently 17 years old, been playing for 8 years), and judging by the skill levels I'd say it's moderately competitive, with a roughly 35% acceptance rate.
This is one of the requirements of the festival:
"1. One movement of a major concerto (Mozart accepted), cadenza included
A major concert piece (Examples: Sarasate: Carmen Fantasy, Chausson: Poème, Saint-Saëns: Introduction & Rondo capriccioso, etc.) "
I was wondering if there are even more examples of "major concert pieces" that are technically easier than the ones mentioned above? (with the exception of concertos, which I'm planning on playing Mozart 3 or Bruch 1st movement if there aren't any more concert pieces options)Tweet
