Backing Tracks and Accompaniment

Edited: April 26, 2020, 12:52 AM · Has anyone got a resource for full orchestral backing tracks?

Here is a really nice example of Renaud Capu├žon.

April 25, 2020, 7:44 PM · Cadenza seems really popular on this forum. However be mindful its only Apple users

April 26, 2020, 5:49 AM · Music Minus One CDs are a great resource.
April 26, 2020, 9:52 AM · The ones I know of are:

Cadenza - free for 3 months on iPad/iPhone - orchestra or piano as appropriate, follows you
Music Minus One - charge for each item/collection - orchestra or piano as appropriate
Tomplay - orchestra, piano, chamber - charge per item
Accompany Music - piano accompaniment - a bit buggy - free for now
Metronaut - free for 5 minutes a day - piano primarily
Piano-Accompaniments.com - piano accompaniments - charge per item

You can also find free Midi files of pieces if you have a program that can play them.

April 27, 2020, 7:22 AM · To add to Susan's last comment -- it's not enough that you have a program that can play them. You also need to have some sound source that is better than most built-in computer soundcards. MIDI often gets criticized for sounding cheap and tinny but in reality, MIDI is just a series of instructions (like a cookie recipe) and if a midi file is played through three different devices, it will have three different sounds, whereas an MP3 file or a WAV file will always sound the same (with exceptions for variations in speaker quality).
