Milhaud violin/viola works

What is the relative difficulty (or comparative) of Milhaud's violin and viola sonatas?
Do they feature on programmes a lot?

October 28, 2019, 12:53 PM · I only know the two viola sonatas, and the Quatre Visages, btr I have never worked on them.
I suppose I should describe them as "upper intermediate" level.
The fast movements are often toccata-like mouvements perp├ętuels and full of tricky modulations.
The slow movements have lyrical charm.

I find his music strangely inconsequential. But then so am I...

October 30, 2019, 5:21 AM · There is a violin arrangement/adaptation of Boeuf sur Toit-- charming for a while, but it spends a long time snaking through every imaginable key. Not tempted to see if I can make it work.
