Anyone use a Boris Sverdlik chin rest?

October 17, 2019, 11:01 AM · They're pricey and he has some excellent reviews from reputable players.

I did order a Sverdlik chinrest to be included with a violin that I commissioned. It’s nearing its completion, and I will report back on the chinrest soon when I receive the instrument!

October 17, 2019, 1:41 PM · I own one, but I don't really use it. The lack of a substantial lip makes it difficult for me to use, especially considering I have a beard so I can't rely on the stickiness of my skin to prevent the violin from pulling away from me.

It's super beautiful though, and acoustically works quite well.
