Bowing issue

July 20, 2019, 6:43 AM · Hello. I'm jnsure how to describe my issue. When I am playing on my viola, when I try and bow at the heel, I always get a scratchy ughy sound. I have tried rosining it, but that only helps tempoaraly.

Does anyone have a soloution(s)?

I find I cannot approach the bridge as closely on viola as I can on the violin for the same kind of musical context. Perhaps that is my own limitation as a player, but there it is.
