Edited: July 14, 2019, 11:11 PM · I had to play an audition tape for a college scholarship in 1983. I played the piano -- I played some proletarian Chopin number, and then I played my own arrangement of Harold Arlen's "Over the Rainbow." I got the scholarship -- $500 per year, that would be $5000 now. I had to agree to play in the jazz ensemble ... boy, what a tough deal, huh? Turns out the piano teachers really liked my performance of "Over the Rainbow" because they never get any audition tapes with bona fide improvised jazz, so I wound up getting some plum classical accompanying gigs in the music department that paid about 2X minimum wage.

Your arrangement is fine Yera -- but I think you can afford to let yourself go a little more. Dive in! Uncork some improv! You've got this!

Ukelele accompaniment was nice. A search of YouTube revealed this one as a comparison:

I am not a fan of the way you miked the violin. Uke is close miked, but violin is plaecd far away from the microphone. This destroyes imaging.

I agree with you. I tried to fix this problem. My new one is better?
