High Bow Hold?

February 18, 2019, 5:08 PM · Hello everybody, so I have noticed that some people tend to hold there bow a little higher than others and I was wondering why? For me personally I have found that I am much more relaxed with a hold a bit higher and can curve my pinky easier ect... Is this just a result of small hands perhaps? or is it actually a different type of bow hold? When I learned I was told to have my middle fingers "pet the frog" so I have just always been curios seeing things like this. I am choosing Ysaye sonata 3 because I have been watching people play it recently.
