yet another chinrest one

Edited: December 5, 2018, 12:29 PM · I was going to bump an old thread to post this nice video with its curious chinrest usage, but they all seem to be archived. It makes you wonder if there's any real point in customised chinrests.

December 5, 2018, 1:34 PM · I see that a lot. The maker/dealer puts a guarneri chinrest on it, partly because it has the clamps in a safer place-over the tailpiece block. Then the player doesn't use it as designed, but puts their chin centered over the tailpiece, catching that little bump of wood.
