Bow for G string: Stiff or heavy?

October 28, 2018, 2:10 AM · My 2 favorite bows (one pernambuco other Cf) are very light (55g). They are great in sound and you can feel that they make things easy.
If I get finicky and look for a weakness, it's in the G string. It takes me more effort with them than other bows (which fail in more qualities) to get a perfect response and clarity in that string. I can compensate with more focus and a grabbier rosin, but there it is.
I see that both bows are light and soft so if I had to trade one characteristic for improving that response in G, would you say it would be weight or stiffness? Just for ease of bowing in G. I know that bows need to be tried for many qualities.
