How is this possible for a human voice???
Not necessarily a violin thread, but I am really shocked at how this lady is able to do vocal staccato like this. Watch around the 2:05 mark... my mind is completely blown. The rest of the performance is spectacular as well. I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed anyone with this much control over their voice in my life.

Brunhild does Mozart.
Vocal staccato like that - it's from the training singers get at conservatoire from top class teachers. Same sort of thing for other techniques applies to instrumentalists.
Callas would have it the other way round - singers should listen to the violin. It's not really her forte though.
What we're also seeing in the Deutekom video is a superb operatic version of the classic "hairdryer treatment" that sports coaches sometimes subject errant team players to!
It is amazing. Though it is standard coloratura soprano repertoire. Just like everybody expects tenors to sing 'Nessun Dorma', they expect sopranos to sing 'Der hölle rache' (more commonly known as 'the Queen of the Night aria').
Just think of great up-bow staccato.
Never mind the music, admire the technique. I can't believe Mozart intended it to be sung with such complete absence of expression. Like blowing a trumpet into the poor girl's face
