Anyone remember a Dutch violinist from the early 70s?

Edited: October 1, 2018, 10:37 AM · In the early 70s I was more easily pleased than I am now, and I was keen on a Dutch violin virtuoso who was on telly a lot and in theatres too. His performance was strictly populist. I vaguely remember he was tall and thin and wore a yellow suit. I suspect his entire act only ever consisted of three numbers, and he didn't last very long.

October 2, 2018, 7:02 PM · No, it was van Veen.
Edited: October 7, 2018, 7:14 AM · Herman Krebbers had more than 3 pieces on his repertoire.
Heard him play the Beethoven with the Concertgebouw Orchestra , in the 70s.
I don't think I have ever before or after been so moved by a performance.

He was the teacher of many great soloists including Frank Peter Zimmermann.

October 7, 2018, 10:49 AM · Adrian, that's a shocking suggestion! Krebbers, one of the most distinguished players of his generation who died just 5 months ago, wouldn't have appreciated being mistaken for a populist who wore a yellow suit on telly.

I much enjoyed his Brahms concerto.
