Anyone remember a Dutch violinist from the early 70s?
In the early 70s I was more easily pleased than I am now, and I was keen on a Dutch violin virtuoso who was on telly a lot and in theatres too. His performance was strictly populist. I vaguely remember he was tall and thin and wore a yellow suit. I suspect his entire act only ever consisted of three numbers, and he didn't last very long.
No. Rieu is the main reason I can't Google it.
Herman van Veen?
Was he part of a theater duo? It could be Mini & Maxi (Karel de Rooij was Mini and the violinist)
I'm pretty sure Katarina is right - Well done!
No, it was van Veen.
Herman Krebbers had more than 3 pieces on his repertoire.
Adrian, that's a shocking suggestion! Krebbers, one of the most distinguished players of his generation who died just 5 months ago, wouldn't have appreciated being mistaken for a populist who wore a yellow suit on telly.
Sorry; please don't get me banned!
