Magic Flute Overture
What makes this piece challenging for strings?
It demands masterful bow control, steady rhythm, impeccable intonation, and perfect ensemble. It only takes one person in the section to destroy the latter.
It certainly wakes the seconds up!
Sorry, but is it any harder than other Mozart? Like the overture to Figaro?
Mary Ellen has nailed it. It is really easy to end up in the part of the bow and then your stuck as there is no time to correct yourself.
