Cigar Box Violin Project

May 14, 2018, 9:00 AM · A long time ago, I had made a post regarding the experimental Cigar Box violin. Most of you guys, of course, would say the sound wouldn't sound so great because:
1. The top plate and bottom plate is made of plywood
2. A box shape isn't a great shape for sound resonance

So once my construction had been completed, I tried a little bit with the A string. It actually doesn't sound so bad. I have no idea why, and wanted to see what you guys though. I do have a couple reasons why.

1. The plywood was actually semi-warped and they were kind of curved.
2. the 'soundpost' I installed was actually a piece of scrap branch that I GLUED onto the bottom and top plate
3. The bass bar was ginormous compared to the volume of the body
