An Unsolved Mystery about Joseph Hel?

Edited: March 1, 2018, 11:06 PM · In the archives of Liverpool, Heidelberg and Lille I have come across documents putting Joseph Hel’s gold medals into a wider context as to their relative importance http://joseph-hel.gerhard-wansleben.de/index.html#Medaillen.

Comparing all the labels and stamps Joseph Hel used on his violins does not give any clues as to why he should at times mention the medals and exhibitions, at other times however only one or the other, and sometimes none at all. A chronological list of his violins can be found on: http://joseph-hel.gerhard-wansleben.de/index.html#Raetsel
There is no system or order that I can detect. What is going on?

March 1, 2018, 4:39 PM · I suggest the title, "An Unsolved Mystery?", which seems to be the one that Gerhard Wansleben had in mind, but was inadvertently put in the wrong place.
