What's new for string players at NAMM 2018?

January 26, 2018, 11:01 AM · OK Laurie, I'm assuming that you're going to NAMM. I can't wait to hear a report about all the new and exciting things for string players. Well?

This looks nice if you play with microphone or pickup.

Edited: January 26, 2018, 11:30 AM · That Bose S1Pro does look like an interesting amp for violinists. It appears that they left off phantom power for condenser microphones unfortunately, a regrettable omission that's too common on lower cost amps. The inclusion of a simplified "Tonematch" engine is very nice. Such devices are the key to rich amplified violin sounds, in my experience.

I have the L1 compact and the Tonematch (at least on that one) is really optimized for guitar as are most of these things. I still have to use a preamp.
