violin teacher in Dijon/Mulhouse/Paris/Lyon?

October 4, 2006 at 10:42 PM · I'm new in France and need to play for someone in preparation for an audition. Does anyone know a violin teacher in Besançon/Dijon/Mulhouse/Paris/Lyon/Basel?

October 5, 2006 at 03:41 PM · Thanks for the quick response! I didn't find much on the net, but I looked up in the telephone book and found an entry under Michael Appleman in Paris. I don't know if it's the right person though. Can you tell me a bit more? Does he teach somewhere? Does he speak English?

October 5, 2006 at 08:54 PM · Yes,

It is him.

He is from Boston. Now lives with his wife and kids in Paris.

He is a wonderful player and teacher.

Very nice guy as well.

October 5, 2006 at 10:20 PM · hey, I live in Mulhouse, and I can tell you there's nobody I could recommand you here, but of course in the area there's Basel with Adelina Oprean,Rafael Oleg and Latica Honda-Rosenberg,the Freiburg with Rainer Kussmaul, and in Dijon I would recommand you Marie Bereau.

I just stumbled on this thread a few weeks later, but I'd be glad to help out, if I can. Thing is, geographically speaking, from Paris to Besançon to Mulhouse...well, that's like asking for a teacher in NY or Boston or Phillie. Still, feel free to give me a call. I am the only Michael Appleman in the Paris phone book. If I can't help you myself, I'd be happy to recommend someone who might be able to.

November 25, 2006 at 11:50 PM · Hey Michael,

Didn't know you are a v.com member.

Small world indeed.

How's things?

Feel free to email and say hello.

Are you around next summer?

Perhaps we can get together?!

January 31, 2007 at 04:52 PM · Mr.Appleman,

I would like to come to Paris this summer and meet you in person and if it is all possible, I would like to play for you during my Paris visit.

My program is

Bach first sonata(complete) G minor

Ysaye second sonata(complete)

and couple of other pieces.

Thanks
