Myaskovsky Concerto availability on paper

June 27, 2006 at 05:07 PM · Please, please, please, PLEASE tell me where I can get the music for the '38 (I believe) Violin Concerto in d minor of Nikolai Myaskovsky. I MUST HAVE IT. If any of you have it, I will pay you for photocopies and shipping.

Maybe you could ask Vadim Repin. His recording of it with Kirov/Gergiev is stunning.

June 28, 2006 at 06:21 AM · Kenny, thank you; I e-mailed Sikorski and asked them if it is available for hire. If anyone else has any ideas as to where I can find this music, PLEASE keep them coming! (I wrote my e-mail to them in German just in case! hehe!)

June 28, 2006 at 06:50 PM · I checked the University of NC Chapel hill library and they have it. See: http://webcat.lib.unc.edu/search/aM{235}i{236}askovski{230}i%2C+N.+%28Nikola{230}i%29%2C+1881-1950/amiaskovskii+n+nikolai+1881+1950/1%2C1%2C54%2CB/frameset&FF=amiaskovskii+n+nikolai+1881+1950&34%2C%2C54 You could probably get it through interlibrary loan.

June 29, 2006 at 04:07 AM · Bruce, thank you for your suggestion. I found it. But, then I thought, "gee, I wonder if MY school library (for next year) has it!" So I looked it up in the UNT library and they have it as well. So, though your specific information wasn't used, you certainly made it possible. Gosh, I was contacting publishers, and all I had to do was look in the school library! Shucky darn!

Thanks again Bruce,

Paul
