chamber music in montreal

May 3, 2006 at 01:59 AM · are there any montrealers here who can tell me about the chamber music scene there? concert series? string quartets in the city? new music ensembles? anything would help, really. thanks!

The most famous new music ensemble in Montreal is the "Nouvelle Ensemble Moderne" known more commonly as NEM which is affiliated with the University of Montreal. There is a Montreal Chamber Music Festival organized by the Brott brothers (Denis and Boris). Aside from that, don't know too much off the top of my head...

Lakeshore Chamber Music Society:

Kent Nagano intends to start a chamber music series at the Museum of Fine Arts featuring members of the Montreal Symphony
