March 18, 2006 at 05:17 AM · Are they related?
March 18, 2006 at 07:07 AM · I know they share the human genomes...
March 18, 2006 at 07:20 AM · We all know Christina is human (mostly) but Ruggiero can't be human. I've heard his Paganini.
March 18, 2006 at 08:59 AM · Yes, Christina is his grandfather's sister.
March 18, 2006 at 10:43 AM · What are you doing William? Who cares anyway.
March 18, 2006 at 02:49 PM · Grandfather's sister? Isn't she a little young and he too old for that?
March 18, 2006 at 04:12 PM · "What are you doing William? Who cares anyway."
To answer YOUR question:
1. I'm asking a question
2. I do. That's why I asked it.
Now does anyone know the answer?
March 18, 2006 at 05:06 PM · I don't think that they are realted. But it is possible!
Both are born in California, Ruggiero in San Bruno and Christina in Santa Monica.
Ruggiero has at least 6 siblings, so it quite possible that any of those are related to her.
But if they where related, don't you think that she would be proud of it and mentions it in interviews?
March 18, 2006 at 05:23 PM · "Ricci" was not his original name. I think it was "Rich."
March 18, 2006 at 06:45 PM · Sander's right...Ricci (or his father) changed his name from (no joke) Woodrow Wilson Rich, as he was born during Wilson's presidency. At least, I seem to remember reading that in H. Roth's book. In other words, there's no way in hell those two are related. :)
March 18, 2006 at 07:05 PM · 2 of Ruggiero's siblings are th cellist Giorgio Ricci and the violinist Emma Ricci.
They use the name "Ricci" too, and are old enough to be Christina's grandparents. And there are 4 more siblings.
But I still find it unlikely.
March 18, 2006 at 11:24 PM · Is Joshua Bell related to Alexander Graham Bell?
March 18, 2006 at 11:31 PM · No, Joshua Bell is human...I've heard his off days. A.G Bell was on point every day...not human.
March 19, 2006 at 12:45 AM · is Jascha Heifetz related to Lenny Heifetz?
March 19, 2006 at 12:57 AM · I want to thank everyone for such wonderful responses. Really, you've been too kind.
March 19, 2006 at 12:58 AM · hehe, what are you up to William?! This thread is very fishy!
March 19, 2006 at 01:09 AM · About 5'8" or so. Maybe slightly taller.....
If you can't beat 'em.......
March 19, 2006 at 01:12 AM · I win, I'm 6'5" *bops William on the head* hehe
and good work, I'm convinced!
March 19, 2006 at 01:14 AM · He wants to know if he can use his Ruggiero contacts to get to Christina. What else could it be?
March 19, 2006 at 01:15 AM · Oooo William, you better hope that your wife doesn't show up on this thread :-)~
March 19, 2006 at 02:36 AM · How dare you imply that Christina Ricci is better than Oistrakh? Oistrakh is a god, and Christina is just some movie-star chick. Her recording of the Shostakovich will never replace his in the pantheon of greatest recordings EVAR.
March 19, 2006 at 03:19 AM · Does Christina Ricci use a shoulder rest?
March 19, 2006 at 03:50 AM · She has a great wide vibrato. I don't think she needs a rest, but she hasn't asked me!
March 19, 2006 at 04:36 AM · Andrew, I read that Ricci was initially named Roger Rich.
Of course Christina uses a shoulder rest. She also prefers contempary American bows to anything else, and thinks that her $5 Chinese violin is better than a Strad.
March 19, 2006 at 04:03 PM · All I can say is that they both must be of Italian origin, because Ricci is a typical Italian last name (I know because I'm Italian!!).
That doesn't mean they are relatives anyway, because Ricci in Italy is a little bit like....Smith..Jackson...in America. You know what I mean ;-)
March 19, 2006 at 04:09 PM · Is Hilary Hahn related to Jessica Hahn?
March 19, 2006 at 05:38 PM · I don't know. But I do know that Efram Zimbalist is related to Efram Zimbalist, Jr. (father and son). And Dimitri Shostakovich is related to Maxim Shostakovich (father and son). And Artur Rubinstein is related to John Rubinstein (father and son, pianist and actor) but NOT related to Anton Rubinstein (pianist/composer) or Herman Rubinstein (who owned a deli where I grew up). And Johann Sebastian Bach is related to about a dozen other Bachs (father and sons, all composers).
But is Shlomo Mintz related to After Dinner Mints?
March 19, 2006 at 05:58 PM · One thing is for sure - Christina Ricci is hotter than Ruggiero Rucci. Yeah.
Although, being practically ancient and playing the hell out of Last Rose is hot, too.
March 19, 2006 at 05:49 PM · I don't know Yura...there's just something about skin folds that makes me so...so hot
March 19, 2006 at 05:51 PM · Did anyone notice you cannot write "sh-t" on this website? I wrote "playing the sh-t out of" and it wouldn't let me send the response.
March 19, 2006 at 05:52 PM · try poo-poo Yura, it's just as effective!
March 19, 2006 at 05:58 PM · Oh, yes.
"Ruggiero Ricci plays the poo-poo out of Ernst."
March 19, 2006 at 05:57 PM · Correction, Ricci's playing of the Ernst Polyphonic studies sounds like "poo-poo"
March 19, 2006 at 05:58 PM · Enjoy those skin folds, Jonathan. I especially like the one right below his butt...
March 19, 2006 at 06:02 PM · lol eewwww....I think that might be a chin
March 19, 2006 at 06:03 PM · He is so short that his chin-fold falls right above his butt-fold.
March 19, 2006 at 05:54 PM · christina ricci is the granddaughter of ghantasala venkateswara rao (1922-1974), an indian composer, court singer, and freedom fighter. i don't know if she has any relation to ruggiero ricci.
March 19, 2006 at 06:20 PM · Speaking of freedom fighters, Yura is a distant relative of Robert E. Lee.
