Hi Guys, I am just wondering about what a 'Practise Tutor" does? I remember reading a past topic and someone suggested the person being a Practise Tutor. Just wondering if anyone knows what it involves and what you do really!
Thanks,
Michael
Hi all,
I was the person who suggested this on another thread. What a practice tutor does is basically sits in on your practice session, and helps manage your time. Obviously this is more geared toward children who are learning Suzuki, whose parents are unable for whatever reason to aid with practice sessions. I worked with a girl for a few years (she was 9 when we started, I think, and I was in college) who fought with her dad when they tried to practice. My teacher at the time assigned me to work with her. I went to her home 3 days a week for an hour each time, and I basically helped her learn new material, practice efficiently, etc. Since she and I had the same teacher, I knew what was expected from her and how my teacher was teaching it. I learned a lot about teaching this way, and the girl, who had been stuck in book 1 for several years, made great strides and was finishing book 2 in a year.
I hope this clears up any confusion. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks, that has cleared it all up!! Thanks again
See ya, Michael.
