Aural Test

June 3, 2005 at 06:31 AM · Hi, I am Lily from Indonesia. First, please apologise my English. I need help. I will take an ABRSM test, for Grade 4, and need an informations about Aural Test. What exactly is it ? Thank you so much in advance for all of you.

It is only small part of your practical exam. You will need to be able to sing (or play back) a few bars of a simple tune after it has been played to you on the piano by the examiner.

You will need to be able to clap the rhythm of a few bars of a tune that has been played to you and identify the time signature.

You will need to be able to answer a few questions about a short piece of music played to you by the examiner such as its style (Legato vs staccato) dynamics (any changes) was major or minor.

And sight sing a few notes (not to any rhythm just pitch)
