I have just bought a new violin, made by E & L Minarski, in Hamburg. I just wondered if enyone have heard of them or know anything about them. Thank you!
I also recently purchased a violin labelled E. & L. Minarski, Hamburg. It is not a new instrument (judging from the condition of the label and the wear on the varnish), and I have not been able to find much about this violin maker. I am really enthused about the tone and playability of this instrument and would like to find out more about this violin. If anyone has more info about this maker or opinions about his instruments, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Carl Seager, Albuquerque, NM USA

May 23, 2005 at 04:30 PM · Dear Tine, I am Eric Heilbron, amateur violinst in Rotterdam and respond to your message on Minarski. There is a Hamburg Minarski violin on auction in Rotterdam (at least it bears the label), 24 may. Like you, I had not heard of them. Trial possibilities of the instrument were limited, but I found it interesting. I would be delighted to hear if you have had any relevant responses to your queries. I intend to attend tomorrows auction and will be pleased to inform you of the outcome. best regards, Eric Heilbron
