has anyone done this? I dont remember what they call this anymore... the International Chamber Music whatever or something?
I attended this way way back and was wondering who teaches now.
I went there a long long time ago when I was 12 or so. I distinctly remember being very bored, as you only have a couple lessons, some quartet coachings and that's basically it. Maybe it's developed beyond that.
I was asking because I live 5 minutes from where it is held, and am considering doing it again. Mr. Bankis was very kind in not charging me for room and board, since I obviously didn't have live there.

March 28, 2005 at 11:06 PM · Hi,
I heard it's a great place. They did have issues last year due to a tremendous cutback in funds from the Canada Council, but the teachers there are great, and there is much focus on the Soviet tradition. Danchenko is there, also Oleg Krysa, and Ilya Kaler if I remember correctly. The level is very high, and the faculty also all perform in public which is always a plus. A friend of mine was on the chamber faculty a couple of years ago and highly recommended the place, so, it looks like a good bet!
Cheers!
