Need information for violin made by Amati

February 10, 2005 at 08:00 PM · My brother in China who is in need of information for the dimension and detailed structure of violins made by Andrea Amati and his son Antonio Amati. Can someone point me where can I find the information? Thanks

February 10, 2005 at 09:44 PM · The Strad magazine sells posters of famous violins by many makers (incl Amati), and their backs include detailed dimensions and such. I don't know if it's precise enough for luthierie (if that's what your brother is looking for) or not, but it's a place to start. www.thestrad.com (click "Shop" on left, then "posters"). Good luck!
