I am having trouble selling my 5-string Ted Brewer electric violin. Most of the electric violins for sale on eBay are around $500 so how can i possibly sell one worth $3500? It's a fantastic instrument in stunning condition seeing as it's only 6 months old. Does anyone know any websites where I could advertise this instrument? I live in Indonesia so it would have to be done via internet. Thanks....
yes i agree with brad. however...if the instrument is that good...you never know how much ebay will fetch you....but aside from that. you are from indonesia? im guessing you werent hit by the tsunami. jeez...its horrible. i just played a small orchestra show yesterday for the tsunami relief.
I wasnt directly affected by the Tsunami (I live in Bali) but unfortunately most people here in Bali have friends or family that were lost over there. It is tragic but so nice to see the whole world making an effort to help out. Thanks for asking!
Sally Jo,
Hope you are well.
I read that you are selling a Ted Brewer 5-string. I actually own a couple of Zetas, so it's not for me... it's for a friend of mine in Houston, who's been wanting a Ted Brewer for a while.
What color is the Ted Brewer instrument?
Her name is Catherine - email is violin4u@yahoo.com. If it's still available, contact her or me, omar@omarlopezmusic.com.
Thanks! -Omar
Omar you can send a personal message to Sally from here by clicking on her name. I don't think there would be much luck with it on ebay. Indoneisa is to ebay what Nigeria is to scam emails, at least as far as musical instruments go, which is all I pay attention to. I think a large majority of the potential buyers on ebay would avoid it. Lots of what would look like good deals get no bids, so people seem to be aware.

January 30, 2005 at 05:41 PM · Unfortunately, despite the good condition of your electric instrument, selling it as "used" will significantly impact your price. Unlike an acousitc instrument, where the sound can actually improve over time, electrics don't mature the same way. With an instrument that you paid $3,500 for, I wouldn't hope for too much more than $1,000 if you're lucky. With selling on the internet, your best chance is to go to eBay and hope someone drives up the bids. If I had the money, I would actually do that for you... but I don't. Sorry.
