I have not yet read the latest biography of Fritz Kreisler (i.e., 'Love's Joy, Love's Sorrow').
Does anyone know if Fritz Kreisler had a child/children? Heirs?
Thanks.
Scott
no, he had a wife though....cant remember her name...i think it was margeret or something.
woops! evidently i havent read emilys comment. His wifes name was HARRIET not margeret.
This is not related to the original question, but I have read that Milstein actually had a daughter. Was/is she also a violinist?
Gossip. Arthur Schnabel's father was the house doctor of the Kreisler family.

Fritz Kreisler and his wife Harriet did not have any children. Although there is evidence that Harriet was pregnant several times throughout the marriage, none of those pregnancies resulted in living children. Kreisler did, however, have a nephew (who I believe was named Fredrich - but don't quote me on that). Whether this nephew was an heir, I do not recall.
Hope this answers your questions. Even if it does, though, get "Love's Joy, Love's Sorrow" soon; it's a trip. Chapter Four, "Fritzi and Harriet", is especially amusing.
