Violin in Iraq --Timothy Weston and V.com in Strings Mag.

April 8, 2009 at 02:08 PM ·

For those who were wondering about the violin that was sent in February to Timothy Weston, a soldier in Iraq, Strings Magazine has a photo and a mention about this project on page 19 of the May 2009 magazine issue.

If you don't know about this project that David Burgess headed up with help from many people on this site, you can read about it here:

I just received string magazine yesterday and read that . I remember responding to him when he asked his questions. (dont remember if it was on this site or another) I was happy to hear what members had done for him.

His statement that the world could use more folks like those found here, made me think we could use a few more like him as well.

Enjoy your violin Tim and stay safe.

I'm still waiting on a picture of Timothy with his fiddle, but will post it as soon as it is available. Also, I'll write something about this in the next few days, to give everyone an update. :)

In addition to that bit in the "News and Notes" section, there's another half-page under "Editor's Note" on page 12.

Perfectly said Al!

David, we are lucky you love making fine violins, because if not you might be recruited to head up the GM turnaround!
