September 6, 2007 at 04:15 PM · Thanks goodness it's not me. I do not think I could stand the pressure or notoriety. Before I knew it, the papparazzi would be after me.

September 6, 2007 at 04:17 PM · Jim Hoyle's alter ego.

September 6, 2007 at 04:18 PM · Buri, are you serious?? Maxim Vengerov reads!! Hi Maxim, if you're out there! (care to join the discussions occasionally?) ;-)

I remember when we were all yakking and gossiping during the finals of the Indianapolis last year--the page was practically updating in real-time--right after the announcement of winners, who should show up on the message boards but Augustin Hadelich!! That was fun.

September 6, 2007 at 04:17 PM · Anyone who tackles violin seriously IMHO has a couple extra floors to which the elevator can ascend I think.

And anyone who can pull a straight bow is greater than I )<:

I'll have to let you all raise the standard.

September 6, 2007 at 05:46 PM · Mara - get back to your studies. You are in college now.

Damn, you've sussed me out as an internet lurker. I always wondered how long I could hide behind the A Smith pseudonym

September 6, 2007 at 07:48 PM · haha...very funny andrew... :)

September 6, 2007 at 08:02 PM · ...somehow I doubt Maxim would use a word like "sussed"... :)

September 6, 2007 at 09:55 PM · Alison - you need a new picture for your bio.

September 6, 2007 at 11:02 PM · Greetings,

Maxim, hiding behind the name Alison Smith which is an obvious anagram of Maxim Vengerov was pathetic. We saw through you straight away.

Go practice,

Don@t think MV has even posted on here but he wrote to me a while back.

Alison - you need a new picture for your bio.

Oh I don't know Tom, I think the current picture of Mr/s Vengerov/Smith is better looking than the usual publicity shot of Mr Vengerov as Mr Vengerov rather than as Ms Smith who is ....

Oh crumbs, I think my brain exploded.

September 7, 2007 at 03:25 AM · MAXIM! You (the real you) need to post something here NOW to clear up all this confusion and stop any more brains from exploding!! :) That's assuming you are still reading this. or ever were reading this. Ow, my brain...

On a different topic, is Ilya even around anymore? Haven't seen him post here for about a year, and I miss his weird jokes!

September 7, 2007 at 06:28 AM · Buri's right. I do need to go and practice. But for the record, Vengerov is better looking than me.

Maxim, if you're reading this, I enjoy dancing too.

September 7, 2007 at 06:42 AM · He has to try the glass slipper on you first.

September 7, 2007 at 07:36 PM · MV does not exist.

September 8, 2007 at 05:17 AM · I am Maxim Vengerov? What? brain...

September 8, 2007 at 04:54 PM · You ran away a few days ago when confronted by the power trio of Bell, Zukerman, and Hahn. Bell and Hahn were on you like Bullwinkle and Rocky on Boris Badenov.

September 9, 2007 at 05:45 AM · ...but I fought them off with a double-force power ray of pretentious musicological ramblings. What on earth has happened to this thread??

September 9, 2007 at 05:59 AM · ran and hid behind the podium.

September 9, 2007 at 03:28 PM · ...but Maxim Vengerov came to my rescue. Aah, we've come full circle!
