Melisa Gohar Atoyan

Melisa was born in Argentina of Armenian parents. At age 8, she becomes the 1st prize winner in the Junior Division of the Fundación Banco Mayo Competition.

Melisa is a winner of AGBU Performing Arts Fellowship 2009. In 2010/11 she was accepted into the International Competition Training Course “La Scuola di Musica di Fiesole” in Italy, and studied with renown pedagogue, Pavel Vernikov and with Valery Oistrakh at Brussels Royal Conservatory in Belgium.

In 2014 Melisa was part of the America’s Got Talent string section for Emily West’s performance at the Radio City Music Hall.

Melisa has been part of the New Opera Company and the Utopia Opera Company as their concertmaster for several productions, was first violin and leader of the string section in the Astoria Tango Orchestra, has served as principal second violin of the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra and is currently Co-concertmaster of the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra where she has also appeared as a soloist.

Melisa Atoyan is the founder and first violinist of the Arya String Quartet. Arya Quartet was featured at the Pleasantville Chamber Music Society in early 2019.
