Tommy Atkinson
I am a teacher, orchestral player, and a bit of a conductor. Currently, I freelance in the Washington, DC area and am pursuing a graduate degree in violin performance at the University of Maryland (expected 2010). I have experience teaching both group and private lessons any age (my youngest student to date was 4, and my oldest was in his 60s). I also have experience coaching chamber music and orchestra sectionals, and have taught at the Baltimore String Orchestra Camp (orchestra), Shenandoah University Performing Arts Camp (chamber music), and the Blue Mountain Festival (chamber music). I also taught in Bermuda for a year for the Menuhin Foundation, where I taught group lessons, private lessons, and conducted a youth orchestra.
