Having played the piano for personal pleasure for about 40 years, I decided to take up an instrument that I could play in an orchestra. The violin was maybe not the wisest choice to make at the age of 50, but it was the instrument that I loved. Years of study with two great teachers have made it possible for me to play in a community orchestra and a quartet, for about six years. I'm happy to find that I was right, playing music in a group is the most thrilling experience imaginable.
