Russell Fallstad

Russell began violin lessons at age five in the public schools, and has blazed a remarkable trail as performer and recording artist. A founding member of the critically acclaimed Fry Street String Quartet which began touring internationally in 1997, Russell performed his swan song with the quartet and with "classical" music in 2009 with a marathon cycle of all 17 Beethoven String Quartets in one week’s time. His band, TDF (The Dueling Fiddlers), presents a bold new genre: Rock Violin, in which classical training and sizzling energy combine with a raw improvisational creativity that appeals to a wide audience.
