Pedro Barreto

The brazilian violinist Pedro Barreto was born on September 4, 1991 in Campinas / São Paulo - Brazil where he began his musical studies. From 2006 to 2010 he studied at the National School of Music Liubomir Pipkov (Sofia - Bulgaria) in the violin class of Prof. Blagorodna Taneva. He has also participated in masterclasses with Profs. Leonidas Kavakos, Dora Schwarzberg (Vienna Academy of Music), Mincho Minchev (Folkwang Hochschule - Essen), Michael Frischenschlager (Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien), Sergey Kravchenko (Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory), Svetlin Russev (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris) and Micho Dimitrov (Concertmaster of Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra). Pedro is now attending student in the class of Professor Mincho Minchev at the Folkwang Hochschule - Essen.
He is prize winner in the the following competitions:
- 1rst prize in the "Preisträgerkonzert 2016 des Kammermusikwettbewerbs des Mozartvereins 1829 eV Nürnberg" (Nuremberg 2016)
- 2nd prize and the special award "Emil Kamilarov" in the "National Competition "Pancho Vladigerov" (Shumen 2013);
- 1rst prize in the "Varna Summer Violin Competition" (Varna 2011);
- 2nd prize in the "VI International Competition Young Virtuosos Emil Kamilarov" (Sofia 2010);
- 1rst prize in the "XXXIV International Violin Competition Nedyalka Simeonova" (Haskovo 2009);
- 1rst prize in the "V International Competition Young Virtuosos Emil Kamilarov" (Sofia 2009);
- 2nd prize in the "First International Competition for Japanese and Bulgarian Music - "Young Virtuosos" (Sofia 2008);
- 2nd prize in the "XI International Violin Competition Petar Toskov" (Belgrade 2008).
Pedro Barreto has a scholarship from the "Beto Studart Foundation" - "Fundação Beto Studart".
